What is the Thomas Hospital Foundation?  The Foundation was created in 1993 to receive gifts on behalf of Thomas Hospital.  Its sole purpose is to raise money to help Thomas Hospital provide exceptional healthcare for you, your family and friends.

What will donating to the Thomas Hospital Foundation mean to me as a patient? You never know when you or someone you care about will need the services of a hospital close to home.

Are gifts to the Thomas Hospital Foundation tax deductible?  Yes, the Foundation is a tax exempt organization according to the IRS regulations.

Why does Thomas Hospital need community support? The high cost of medical technology, the growth of indigent care and bad debt, shrinking reimbursements for services and a rapidly expanding population have had a major impact on Thomas Hospital. 

Can I designate my gift? Yes, The Foundation currently receives donations in the following funds:  Capital Expansion, Diabetes, Emergency Room, Pediatrics, Cardiac Care and unrestricted, which means the funds can be used where the need is the greatest.

How is my donation used? The Foundation raised $3.0 million to bring open heart surgery to Baldwin County in 1999.

The Foundation has funded Digital Mammography, High Definition Laparoscopic surgical equipment, a heart catheterization lab devoted to electrophysiology study of the heart.

The Foundation funded the major portion of the new Cardiac Rehab facility on Nichols Avenue and well as all the equipment for the new Emergency Department.
